Prey definitely could have used a few more months of bug testing and patching before going live, without a doubt. The full list of bug fixes coming with patch 1.05 is frankly ridiculous. Bethesda's " less than 24 hour" review policy also did not help.Īnd that's a damn shame, because the base game is actually really an enjoyable experience with a gripping story, like many of Bethesda's games- but that's only when it works. Many players, including myself, had essentially given up the game as too broken to play on PC, which led to some incredibly low review scores for the game, both by critics and consumers. Many players encountered s ave-related issues and game crashes on PC when Prey first launched, which was addressed s everal days later with a patch, but the damage had already been done. Addressing Prey's bugs and performance issues has been an ongoing process for Bethesda and Arkane with a lot of frustration on all sides, I'm sure.
